BIO
André Pinto Donadio is a cinematographer and photographer from Maringá, Paraná, Brazil, now based in Adelaide, South Australia. After beginning his career in another field, he returned to visual storytelling and has spent the past six years building a body of work across documentary, narrative, and commercial film, alongside a parallel practice in photography. He is currently available for commercial, documentary and narrative shoots across South Australia and beyond.
His cinematography has been recognised by the Australian Cinematographers Society, including a Gold Award and the Milton Ingerson Award for Wet Feather, a Silver Award for the Magnum Photos × Veuve Clicquot campaign, a Silver Award for the short film Wild Orchid, and a Bronze Award for Red Earth.
His documentary work includes The Wolf in Cat's Clothing, a feature bio-documentary on conservationist John Wamsley directed by Walkley Award-winning journalist Daniel Clarke, and Unleash, a feature documentary on burlesque and self-expression, distributed by Umbrella Entertainment and streaming on SBS On Demand. He served as Director of Photography on Cordelia, Daughter of the Sea, which premiered at Flickerfest and Adelaide Film Festival in 2024, and on Boogie Days, winner of Best Film, Best Director, Best Editing, and Best Production Design at the 48 Hour Film Project, later screened at Filmapalooza in Los Angeles.
On the commercial side, André has collaborated on international campaigns for Magnum Photos, Veuve Clicquot, and Stink Films — including a global campaign exploring generative AI, shot across multiple countries.
Before moving into cinematography, André's photography was exhibited across Brazil and Australia, including at Melbourne's Centre for Contemporary Photography, and commissioned by outlets including Australian Motorcycle News. A standout project — a 113-piece fine art print series for Lancemore Crossley St. in Melbourne — saw him manage the full creative process, from shooting through to final print and installation.
